Vacancy Matching Service
The Lincolnshire Vacancy Matching service is a partnership between the National Childminding Association, Local Registered Childminders, Schools and Children Centres.
Schools and Children Centres that sign up to the service have their own Vacancy co-ordinator, who holds details of local registered childminders who have vacancies.
Childminders are able to offer: Before and after school care Holiday care Full day care
Some childminders offer weekend and evening care to meet the needs of parents working shift patterns.
How does it work?
- The School and the Children Centre hold details of the Vacancy Co-ordinator who is a registered childminder supported and trained by an NCMA Development Worker. - The Vacancy Co-ordinator holds an up to date list of registered childminders in the local area, who have vacancies. - Childminders keep their vacancy details updated with the vacancy co-ordinator. - Parents looking for childcare ask at the School or Children Centre for the Vacancy Co-ordinator's details. - The School or Children Centre passes details to the parent who contact the Vacancy Co-ordinator. - Parents then contact the Registered Childminder.
Who can benefit from the Vacancy Matching Service?
Children benefit from being cared for and educated in a familiar environment. Children cared for by registered childminders directly linked to local schools or children centres can take part in and feel part of the local community. Young siblings become familiar with the school they are likely to attend, perhaps making friends first in the playground before starting school.
Parents can easily contact local childminders who have vacancies. A childminder can offer childcare to children from birth onwards enabling pre school and school aged children to be cared for together in a home environment, providing piece of mind for the whole family.
Schools and Children Centres are able to support families to find childcare to meet their individual needs. This helps develop working relationships throughout the local community.
For more information about the Schools and Children Centre Vacancy Matching Service contact your Vacancy Co-ordinator - Jayne Barnaby on 01476 576757.
(NCMA Vacancy Coordinators are not linked to childminding groups.
Each enquiry will be given names, telephone numbers of those that have registered with the service, who have current vacancies to meet the enquirer's needs.)
